AshantiGold Sporting Director Nana Kwasi Darling has revealed that players of the club lack the drive and hunger to give off their best for the club during Ghana Premier League.
The Miners have come under heavy criticism from their fans following their lackluster display against Legon Cities at the Len Clay Stadium on matchday 27.
Sports Insider @ Nsem.Com reported by your one and only The Sports Man has been reliably informed that fans levelled unsubstantiated allegation of sports betting against players and officials of the club in the wake of the loss.
But, Sporting Director of the club Nana Darling has explained in an interview with Kumasi-based Pure FM that the Miners are suffering from a lack of player hunger and commitment.
“Nobody within the management rank knows anything about sports betting. After the Legon Cities game, I engaged some of the players and I found out that we are suffering from a lack of hunger and low commitment from players. It’s a problem we need to urgently address,” he told Kumasi-based Pure FM, monitored by The Sports Insider here at Nsemka.Com
AshantiGold are currently 10th on the Ghana Premier League table with 34 points and are just 5 points away from safety with 7 games left to wind up the season.
