List of GES Officials Who received Diverted Blind School’s Items Out

It will be recalled that on the 14 May 2021, Akropong Sch. for the blind students protest; demanded removal of ‘abusive’ headmistress.

A joint petition by the Students Representative Council (SRC) and the Progressive Old Students Association of Akropong School for the Blind presented to the Ghana Education Service, called on all stakeholders, the office of the President, Ministry of Education, the Ghana Education Service and CHRAJ for the headmistress Madam Mahela Narh’s immediate interdiction for proper investigation to be conducted.

The students accused the headmistress Mahela Narh of mismanagement leading to poor academic performance and the gradual collapse of the school.

They also cited the headmistress of misappropriation of funds and selling of foods donated to the school by philanthropists. They further alleged that the Headmistress has been verbally abusing students over their disability. The student also complained about the poor quality of meals served them.

It has come to the notice of Nsemka.Com that the following executives of Ghana Education Service (GES) are allegedly confirmed beneficiaries of diverted items meant for blind students at the Akropong School For The Blind.

  • GES Head Office – Accra > The special education director > Madam Bernice A. Addae
  • GES Akwapim North Municipal Director > Elizabeth Korkor Amanor
  • GES Eastern Regional Director > Mrs Margaret Nsiah Asamoah

Nsemka.Com can affirm that the last diverted items meant for the school were stacked into a pic-up vehicle and allegedly wheeled off the GES Eastern Regional Director on the 13th May 2021, which was a day before the demonstration kicked off. Photos below.
